Last blog

Ok . . . no longer keeping a blog on here as I have only one "follower" (and that makes it sound like a cult anyway) - redirect to www.myspace.com/huntsvilleweather if you want to read my weather blogs. And thanks for reading them in the first place.

Well it looks like a mild system coming through . . . mainly on Friday. If we see any wintry precipitation on Saturday it'll just be flurries or a few ice pellets . . . nothing significant. Just remember in temps below freezing, driving is always a hazard . . . even fog can freeze on the road and cause injuries, etc.

Looks like I'm in disagreement with the officials here . . . eh, that's why they get paid and I don't. Read my forecasts at your own risk . . . heh.

THEY ARE USUALLY WRONG! I FREELY ADMIT!

But I try . . .

Thrilled that the Inauguration came off without a hitch . . . and Garth Brooks's performance was just awesome. Actually, the whole show was awesome. This is the first time in a long time I've had the hope that our country might actually be on the right track. And I don't care who that offends.

Chances of any precipitation within the next week looking far less than before. Glad to see some snow today . . . and some of it actually stuck! Today we celebrate one of my favorite porch monkeys . . . (see the movie CLERKS II if you are offended by this) . . . tomorrow we hopefully get our first porch monkey for President . . . if some fool shoots him I hope they lynch 'em . . . since they're wanting to revert to Neanderthal thinking anyway. Anybody offended by me actually liking porch monkeys . . . kiss my ass.

I'll be content to watch it on YouTube, although it truly is a historic event. Please note that one of our former Presidents way back when actually died from pneumonia about a month after being sworn in! So do dress warmly if you go, and take your vitamin C! (grin)

Technically, Marshall, Jackson, and Dekalb counties are under a freezing rain advisory tonight but must not be too big a deal because they didn't activate the NOAA weather radio for it. Just be careful it if you're driving. My confidence in this is low . . . esp. since it looked like the threat for any rain was about nil and then we get a little anyway . . . new thought . . . maybe should review past few forecasts whenever making a new one . . . not just look at what's going on right now but also look for patterns from previous days . . . ? Shouldn't have totally written off the chance of some moisture . . . I'm also not quite sure 36 will be our final high for today . . . even though it's already dark . . . the temperature surprisingly is rising so who knows, it might rise a few more degrees before cooling down again overnight.

I once thought I was indecisive . . . but I never could quite make up my mind . . . just kidding. But any remote thoughts of us getting snow have departed from my mind. I doubt we'll even see any flurries. Just bitterly cold and gradually warming up next week. Happy thought . . . spring is not so far away . . . not-so-happy-thought . . . spring is also our main tornado season. Every season has its quirks. Everybody stay warm . . . keep those pets inside for at least a few more nights.
